A SEVENTH Day Adventist (SDA) Church gospel musical group Sapphire will launch their fifth album this Saturday.

This will take place at the new SDA Marata Centre at Burnscreek, east Honiara.

Sapphire’s new album is entitled ‘Young Heart’ and that features four members of the group.  The new album is more contemporary with upbeat melody that suits the style of their music.    Eleven songs are featured in the new album composed by the members themselves.

One of the vocalists Gayleen Sosopu said the album is incredible and is created under copyright with new label.

This is a big change for the group. This new album is totally different from our previous one,” Ms Sosopu said.

She said songs in the new album are about the challenges and troubles encountered by youths but which were often overcomed by the church.

The group has been going on for eight years. Although some of their singers have since moved on, four have remained to produce this new DVD.

The shooting of the new album was done in Australia. It took the group more than two months to complete filming.

Sapphire was formed in 2002 by a group of Betikama College students. They’ve since produced four albums.
