YOU may have seen a group that was featured at the Betikama Adventist College (BAC) promotional DVD album in 2007 called Enakors.
It’s an Adventist student group formed in 2006.
Four years on this group had finally released its first DVD album on Saturday night at the Panatina Pavillion, east Honiara.
The nine-member group included five females and four male with their album entitled ‘Ultimate Giver’.
The DVD comprised of 8 songs, of which two are pidgin and the rest English.
Most of the shootings were done in Honiara and the provinces.
The aim of the album is to motivate the young people to share God’s word through singing, said assistant manager Karl Vaekesa.
The members said it was a dream come true to finally see the DVD launched with the assistance of Home Grown Studio owned and operated by Mr Vaekesa.
During the ceremony, a good turnout of people packed the Pavillion to see the group perform live on stage.
While they perform, the DVD were also sold on special prize at $120.00 per copy.
As of today, copies will be available for sales are various indentified locations.
Youth Director Pr Wilfred Liligeto who spoke at the launching ceremony said the launch is another success story of what youths can do to spread the word of God to others through singing.
He said that the public and members of the church should support the group by getting a cope today and not through piracy which is a dishonesty way of supporting a group.
Pr Liligeto congratulated the group and its management for their hardwork, dedication to finally get the album out to the public for their personal viewing.
Enakors was formed by 7 members who are former BAC students.
The group was named by Obed Zutu a former manager and BAC staff who is currently studying at Pacific Adventist University (PAU).
Mr Zutu yesterday congratulated the group from PAU for their achievement in making one of them long term dreams turn into reality.
“This is a fine achievement for group which through difficult times struggle to stick together while continue with the good work of sharing their talent and message of God through singing,” he said.
Enakors means ‘The well of him who cries’ which was Greek word.
The group had visited many churches around Honiara and the provinces to sing.
They also featured in a DVD produced by the Betikama College.
But since some of the management team left, the group was scattered.
Not until last year then Henz Vaekasa was approached to support the group with his wife, Judith and son karl as the assistant manager.
The group is looking at launching its second album soon.
