Catholic teachers commissioned

The Catholic Teaches Sodality gathered at Holy Cross Cathedral on February 19th for their opening Mass and Commissioning as they embarked to their respected Schools.

Archbishop Christopher Cadone OP presided over the live broadcast of this Eucharistic Celebration. The dynamic Liturgy was led by the Bishop Epalle Catholic School.

“Teachers, we are Christ-like to all our students and school communities.  You vocation as a teacher is very important as you form each student wholistically in body, mind and soul. Be holy teachers and make a difference in the lives of our children.”

This was a powerful message shared by the Archbishop during his homily.  The teachers then were invited to stand and publicly made their pledge.  This was followed by the blessing and sprinkling of holy water on all our teachers.

A special welcome was delivered by the Education Secretary, Ms. Modesta Hasiau, during the meeting.  Introducing of new principals and staff of different schools and learning centers was also part of the meeting.

The day was concluded with shared lunch provided by each schools.

Archbishop Chris Cardone OP thanked the Education Secretary and Catholic Teachers Animator (Sr. Sesilia Sala FMA) for organizing this first gathering.  He encouraged the teachers and school communities to reach out and invite other teachers to join and share fellowship within the Catholic Teachers Sodality.
