AFTER years of planning, the Kakabona Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church situated west of Honiara has begun enrolling students for its prep and grade one for the 2017 academic year.
The new school called ‘Kakabona Adventist primary school’ is situated in the heart of Kakabona within the Church compound.
Sendah Savakana a Church Elder and chairman of the primary school committee in announcing the start of the school yesterday said parents who are interested to enroll their children at the new school can do so this week.
“I would like to inform you all that the Kakabona SDA primary school is now starting to enroll students this week for classes this year 2017.
“The classes are preparatory A, preparatory B, and class one (1). If you or any member of the Adventist Church need a quality Adventist education for your/their children, and the Kukum/Burnscreek primary school are far for you, then you are welcome to Kakabona Adventist primary school. Easy to get transport (Bus) with no traffic congestion,” he said while referring to residents of West Honiara.
Currently the Solomon Islands Mission (SIM) of the SDA educational authority has posted two (2) teachers and the Guadalcanal province has posted one (1) teacher to support the school this year.
The school has a building with three classrooms and is solely funded by the church members.
The chairman also issued an appealed; “the school still needs some support through the provision of paint especially blue and off-white to complete the painting task.
“If you can support with a tin of paint or so, then we thank you for it.”
He asked for everyone’s prayer to get the school operating now and the years ahead as part of evangalising to the community.
