Early this month, the MP handed to
representative of Honiara based fundraising committee $110,000.
This amount is believed to have come from the constituency’s government-provided funds.
The assistance was made in response to appeal from the committee and Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) authority in Renbel.
The week-long celebration is hosted at Hutuna village in East Rennell from December 25 to the New Year 2013.
Hutuna was the home village of the SDA pioneer mouthpiece of Renbel in the 1930s, a high chief Moa Peseika.
The celebration will be highlighted by displays and shows to resemble the arrival of the SDA belief in Renbel, presentations, singing, entertainment, sporting and feasting.
Officiating in the occasion are representatives of the SDA headquarters in Honiara.
An informal but exciting agenda in the jubilee gathering at East Rennell in the planned tour for the guests of Lake Tengano where visitors will be introduced to interested sites include the famous bird islands.
