Week of prayer ends

THE one-week spiritual programme for youths within the Honiara District of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) church ended at the weekend.

Reports reaching the Solomon Star said the program was a blessing for most of the young people who have recommitted their lives to God to serve Him.

The programme, which started last Sunday, featured spiritual activities such as praying, singing and presentation of sermons.

The youth week, according to the church’s yearly programme, is part of engaging youths to allow them to become involved in church activities.

Wind Valley youth leader Ghuapity Milton said the week was a success.

Mr Milton said youths from the surrounding areas have turned up each night.

He said some youths walked long distance to listen to the night's programmes.

"The highlight of the programme was the closing where most of the youths re-dedicated their lives to God," he said.

He said like most of the churches around Honiara, it is good to see young people realising the importance of dedicating their lives to God in order to serve Him.

The youth leader said given the worldly influence that is creeping in due to changing society, most youths need to get connected with God through such organised spiritual programme.

Mr Milton, who had been actively involved in a number of youth programmes in the Western province and in Honiara, said his Wind Valley youth group is planning more spiritual activities this year.
