A ONE week stewardship program concluded successfully over the weekend at Wind Valley SDA church, White River, east Honiara.
The main speaker is Pr Francis Feratelia, who conducted the programs every night.
The main aims and objectives of the program is to remind church members to be good stewards of their lives, which focus on taking care and looking after the property of Christ.
Pr Feratelia reminded the youths that as stewards they are managers but own nothing because God owns most of the things in this world..
“Youths should stand strong in their different aspects in heaven but not earth,” he said.
About 300 peoples attended the stewardship meeting every night mainly SDA youths, visitors and friends from around the city and community.
Spokesman for the community, Ghuapitu Milton, said that the program was the first ever and it made a good impression for the community.
“The program has a positive impact in the community,” he said.
At the end of the one week, the church organised a freewill offering to help with the project of the church.
A number of singing groups performed during the night to support the program.
Three thousand dollars were collected during the sing along.
The money will go towards a project to build a bigger and permanent church building.
The major gathering will be held next month through the request of the community, said Mr Milton who is coordinator of Wind Valley church.
The singing groups that performed have inspired the audience and blessed by the message of songs, Mr Milton said.
“The people in the community want to see similar program organised again,” he said.
One of the community members said that such program should be organised in both rural and urban areas to motivate young boys and girls stand firm in their Christian walk.
Lau Valley Adventist men also assisted in the weekend program on Saturday (Sabbath).
The coordinator acknowledged those who participated during the one week program for their generous support and time.
Wind Valley is a multi-ethnic community that had shown the initiative to work together as one.
