WOMEN are urged to be mindful of their drinking.
This was the statement of some concerned women, who asked not to be named, following the accident at Auki Wharf which left a man and two women dead last Wednesday night.
One woman said while this is a sad incident, it is also a lesson for each individual to drink responsibly.
“People who want to drink and get drunk should drink in the comfort of their homes or locations intended for this activity and not inside vehicles and driving around,” one concerned woman said.
Another woman urged women to stay away from vehicles when under the influence of alcohol.
“Drinking is a right of each individual but we must also take precaution,” this concerned woman said.
She urged women to ensure they have someone sober to take them home when going out drinking.
Meanwhile, these women urged the Malaita Provincial Government to erect a gate at the wharf with proper security officers to stop a repeat of what happened last Wednesday night.
