16 days of Activism campaign and white ribbon campaign starts

ACTIVITIES will be held in the next two weeks to mark the 16th Days of Activism campaign and White Ribbon campaign which started kicked off on Friday to December 10.

Today an awareness talk on domestic violence and gender balance will be held at the Family Support Centre with an outdoor display of information for both men and women.

Tomorrow is the International Women Human Rights Day and a  parade is proposed to take place.

On Wednesday a half day workshop on Partners Domestic Violence Legislation workshop will take place.

On Thursday the Ministry of Women, Youth, Children and Family Affairs will co-host with the National Parliament open day which will be held at the Parliament venue also the HIV Unit of the Ministry of Health and Medical Services will also celebrate world AIDS day.

International Day for the Abolition of Slavery will be celebrated on Friday.

Then on Saturday the international day of the Person with Disability will be commemorated.

International Volunteers Day for Economy and Social Development will be celebrated Monday next week.

Anniversary of the Montreal Massacre will be remembered next Tuesday.

An open Day jointly hosted by the Solomon Islands Development Trust and Vois Blo Mere Solomon will be held next Wednesday to mark the International Civil Aviation Day.

Thursday next week will be the blue ribbon day and on Friday next week will be the anti corruption day.

A 30 minutes program by Law Reform Commission will be held next Saturday at the Solomon Islands Broadcasting Cooperation (SIBC) to mark the International Human Rights Day.

The theme for this year’s 16 days of activism campaign is from peace in the home to peace in the world.
