A church service is scheduled to take place at the Holy Cross to mark the commencement of the event.
A parade will then follow on Monday next week from the Honiara City Council to the Rove police grounds where the official programme to be held.
This year theme is ‘From peace in the home to peace in the world’.
The 16 Days of Activism and International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women are commemorated every year around the world to raise awareness and trigger action on this pervasive human rights violation.
The ministry of women supports the campaign in collaboration with stakeholders, gender advocators, NGOs, churches and women groups.
