The event that started Friday last week was concluded with a morning procession from the Kovuare area to the Parish grounds, an open Mass service, feasting and outdoor activities.
Youth groups from White River right down to Tamboko, West Guadalcanal are taking part in the three days event.
Parish Youth Coordinator, Timothy Jackson Fitolo told the Solomon Star that the main purpose of the event was to commemorate the Pentecost Day, 50 days after the first Passover in the Christian calendar.
“This weekend’s camp out coincides with the Pentecost Day.
“During the course of this event, youths have taken part in various talks being conducted by Fr. Jacob Abba.
“The talks were based on the Christian faith and believe in the Catholic teachings.
“There were also sporting activities, talent shows, and other small activities being organized,” Mr Fitolo said.
He added, the main aim of organizing the event was to help youths to come together as sisters and brothers and to learn more about the Christian faith.
Speaking to this paper, Mr Fitolo said the outcome was very good.
“The turn out and the involvement of youths in this event was very nice.
“It shows that the youths are willing and committed to be part of a godly event.
“They came to know each other and some even shorted out hatred amongst them and see each other as Christian brothers and sisters,” he added.
The Youth Coordinator also said the outcome of the event has given him green light for a more similar program in the near future.
His main focus at the moment is the World Youth day 2015, an annual event that is usually organized for youths throughout the world.
For the next event, he believes that the number of participants will be increasing compared to the one that was just concluded over the weekend.
