She is one of the awardees alongside other women from the pacific region who received golden award champion.

The award coincided with the 50th anniversary for the Community Education Training Centre or better known as CETC that was established to provide technical and vocational training for women in the community development sector.

CETC is offered by the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC).

This month of the year, CETC celebrates 50th anniversary that ends with an award ceremony and graduation that marks the final offering of the programme under SPC.

Mrs Maega said she was honoured to receive the award and thanked the ministry of women for nominating her.
She was a student of CETC in 2002 and said the training has broadened her knowledge and a great way forward for her life.
“Every year graduates from CETC have done great impact to the lives of the people in various communities,” she said.

“I would like to acknowledge the women and communities in my country for my success today, for them supporting me in my trainings in their respective areas.”

Four local women also graduated from CETC.
