She said 40 participants took part in the four-day training that was successfully concluded yesterday.

“The importance of this training is to assist market vendors achieve their goals, which is poverty reduction,” Mrs Gaylyn said.

Participants were issued with certificates of participation.

Meanwhile, the participants acknowledged the training.

Spokesperson Anna Kokosi said the training gave her clear understanding of leadership roles expected of her as a woman and leader.

She also embraced the skills in cooking good quality food for her family.

Mrs Kokosi said the important thing she learned from the workshop is how to work together as a group.

She added the difficult part of the training was some of the English terms used during the training.

However, she said it was pleasing that Mrs Gaylyn simplified the words in a language she could understand.

Mrs Kokosi said she will return to her village and share the skills she learned with other women.
