A toolkit on how to design projects to end violence against women and girls was launched at the national auditorium Solomon Islands Museum on Monday.

The toolkit which outlines step-by-step guide to taking action with practical tools and advice designed especially for pacific was launched in the presence of the Australia Government Councillor to Solomon Islands Roclle White.

The toolkit was commissioned by the UN Women Pacific Regional Ending Violence against Women Facility Fund in response to request by stakeholders.

As requested the toolkit is a practical with user-friendly materials and resource that would help them design and implement project successfully to end violence against women in the region.

The Pacific Fund  which funded the Toolkit offers a range of financial and technical support to organizations across the region that are working to end violence against women and girls using a gender analysis and human rights based approach.

The Toolkit brings together information, resources and practical activities to help Pacific Islanders apply a gendered analysis to the issue of violence against women and to design and implement effective and sustainable projects.

The toolkit can be used for new based approach for new projects or to integrate a gender analysis and human rights based approach to existing projects aiming to end violence against women.

Also present at the launching of the toolkit are local non government organizations (NGO) who are working closely to end violence against women in the country like; Voice Blo Mere, Family Support Centre, Family Support Organization and Correctional Service Solomon Islands.
