PROVINCES BEEF UP COVID-19 PREPAREDNESS


All ten Provinces have beefed up their preparedness to counter any possible outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country.

KG VI School dormitories ready to accommodate quarantine persons


After a week of clean-up and renovation, King George Sixth (KG VI) National Secondary School dormitories has been repurposed to accommodate persons who is compelled to undergo the compulsory 14-days quarantine.

DEAR EDITOR – A report I sighted yesterday said the Central Bank of Solomon Islands (CBSI) has brought in a health safety measure to ensure those visiting the bank are not suffering from a fever that could give rise to the concern the visitor had coronavirus.

DEAR EDITOR – I see the betel nut and other product stalls opposite Telekom driveway have gone however I note the stall near BPI is still there as well as the stalls along the Ranadi foreshore. 

Abuse of children

DEAR EDITOR – There are recent stories published in the media on the ongoing abuse of children. 

Officers of the National Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Rove Police Headquarters in Honiara have arrested a 44-year-old man following an allegation of spreading rumours on social media about COVID-19 in the Solomon Islands.

Australia funds testing machine 


The Australian Government is funding the procurement and delivery of a new COVID-19 testing machine to enable in-country testing in the Solomon Islands.

RSIPF arrests a director of Onelink Pacifica

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) in Honiara have arrested one of the Onelink Pacifica directors on 30 March 2020 following a complaint raised by mentors and customers who are struggling to have their shares paid by the director.
