Hatate to get $3m in shipping grant

Hatate Development Company from North West Choiseul this morning will receive $3millionin shipping grant from their outgoing Member of Parliament (MP) Connelly Sandakabatu.

Mr Sandakabatu on Wednesday told Solomon Star that he would hand over the grant to the company today.

“Today I will handover $3m to Hatate Development Company (HDC) sought from our shipping grant.

“The money was given by government for our people therefore tomorrow (this morning) I would officially handover the money to them,” Mr Sandakabatu said.

Mr Sandakabatu said once the company successfully purchased the boat it should help the entire constituency and Choiseul province as a whole.

“Once this company purchase the ship it should help our people in the constituency and the entire islands as whole.

“Business people and traveling passengers who wish to come over to Honiara should be served right on their village,” Mr Sandakabatu said.
