The TTM method is now becoming popular among the male farmers in West Kwara'ae as more male farmers are now showing interest in the newly introduced method.
According to the male participants who attended the demonstration session at the Bethel village in West Kwara'ae, they said, the TTM method is easy to follow and required less work compared to the traditional method.
One of the male participants who attended the demonstration on Monday told the Solomon Star that after learning about the TTM farming method, he will now help his wife by introducing the new method so that they will produce more food for their family.
"After attending the demonstration today (Monday) I find out that the method is very easy to follow.
"I will now introduce the new method to my family and if it works well then will surely leave the traditional method and adapt this new TTM introduced method.
"From what I saw during the demonstration, this method requires less work compared to the traditional method.
"As a farmer who practiced the traditional way of farming, the last thing that we are waiting to see is the harvest, if the harvest from this method is better than our traditional method then we will definitely stick on it."
In the meantime, the TTM representative here in Malaita Samson Hsu said the method is better than the traditional method because it produces more yielding.
Mr. Hsu said this TTM method is suitable for places like Malaita province where there are large families to feed.
He said this method is proven effective where he believes it will work well for local farmers in Malaita.
