Business mentoring program ends here

05 September 2014

THE Pacific Business Mentoring program has ended a week long mentoring with the new clients.

The closing ceremony was attended by the New Zealand High Commissioner, Her Excellency Marion Crawshaw, Development Counsellors Naomi Kyriacopoulos, Ana Reid and Chamber of Commerce CEO Jerry Maiki Tengemoana.

This is the 4th year of the program, which is coordinated by the Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

There were 15 new clients who attended the one on one mentoring that took place on the 24th – 29th August 2014 at Heritage Park Hotel.

These clients will go through a one-week training in December.

The PBMP is working on a new approach to include providing mentoring at the Executive level targeting large size businesses.

This new approach has already done in other Pacific Islands Countries and discussion is underway to extend it to Solomon Islands.

MrTengemoana said hewas pleased with the outcome of this visit and hope to further improve the program through dissemination of information to potential businesses.

He is also pleased that two clients MK Farm Fresh, which won the green business of the year in the CSO category and Julie GegeuHaro, who won the Business Woman of the Year in the recent Solomon Islands Business excellence Awards held on Saturday night, have proved that the program worked well for them.

Notices for the next training will come out soon in media or visit the Chambers website
