PRESIDENT of the Aluta Palm Oil Council Rocky Tisa has invited the Democratic Coalition for Change government to visit the council and landowners.

Mr Tisa said they are pleased with the assurances made by the DCC government to progress the stalled project, and wanted DCC representative to visit them.

“We want the DCC authorities to visit us and share their plans and goals on the future of the project and outline how best we can work together to move the project forward.”

Aluta Palm Oil project is one of the major developments earmarked for Malaita. The east Malaita project was stalled after funds allocated were reportedly dried up, leaving hopes high and dry.

But Mr Tisa said DCC has expressed its commitment is fulfilling the project which prompts them to call for the visit.

He said the delay in moving the project forward had already diminished hopes of landowners and people in the area, and are now looking at involving in other businesses such as logging and forestation.

The MAL Minister Augustine Auga had already confirmed he will visit Aluta after the budget is passed.

He made the confirmation this week when he revealed that the Ministry had secured about 50,000 palm oil seeds for Aluta and Waisisi.
