Mr Jeffrey Wickham was responding to a call made in the Forum Gizo discussion group in the social media on Monday.
It was revealed that former premier Wayne Maepioh was seen driving the brand new double cab hilux in Honiara the other day.
The Solomon Star was told, when contacting the provincial headquarter in Gizo, the hilux was supposed to be in Gizo yet, the former premier is still holding to that brand new hilux.
It was also confirmed to this paper that the hilux was purchased by the Ministry of Provincial Government and Institutional Strengthening for the Western Provincial Government.
Mr Wickham further claimed a 60 hp outboard motor was also with the former Premier which he has informed the Police Provincial Commander (PPC) about it.
“I think it is better if he returns the provincial government property in good faith rather than being grabbed from him, that of course is our last resort,” Mr Wickham said.
Mr Maepioh and his deputy Marloney Lopoto were the major casualties in their province’s elections.
Mr Maepio lost his Ward 24 seat to long-time rival Pitrie Sute, while Mr Lopoto gave away Ward 15 to David Gina.
According to reports from Gizo yesterday Mr David Gina is eyeing the premier’s post.
Report reaching this paper also confirmed that new and returning provincial members were in Gizo yesterday for their swear-in.
Attempts to get Mr Maepio for comment weere unsuccessful.
