Acting Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development (MEHRD), Mr James Bosamata has strongly advised all the 33 New Zealand scholarship awardees to make use of their time when studying overseas.

According to Mr Bosamata he stated that this opportunity is very important and needs commitment and self-discipline.

He added that awardees need to work hard and study hard in order to complete their required year peacefully and successfully.

Bosamata stated that the demand for scholarship in New Zealand this year is very high and also costs too much to bring students over to study.

“As a parent, I’m very proud of you all and warn you not to neglect parent’s advice, since they are there to lead and guide you.

“Carry the flag of Solomon Islands and be good ambassadors of our country,” said Mr Bosamata.

Mr Bosamata added that students should have the aim to upgrade Solomon Islands from its current standard of living.

He also asked the awardees to be in good relationship with the New Zealanders and learn from each other through learning and school works.

“Make use of this relationship and bring back what you have learnt to better save the country,” said Mr Bosamata.
