Acting Police Commissioner Mostyn Mangau revealed this at the commissioner’s weekly conference, Thursday.
“I urged the general public to support police in their investigation,” Mangau said.
He appealed to anyone who may have any information about this incident to contact the Taro police on phone 63100 or 63167.
He said the body was found washed ashore on Saturday morning.
Mangau added that Taro police in Choiseul attended the report with the support from the forensic officers.
He said forensic officers and investigators from the serious crime were available there as they are currently engaged in the border operation down in Shortland Islands.
