Date set for SIRUF meet

The Solomon Islands Rugby Union federation (SIRUF) has finalised a date to stage its annual general meeting (AGM) and council meeting to elect its new executive.

The SIRUF\ AGM has been moved from the 20th of January to the 5th of February 2014.

This was due to the bad weather currently experienced in the country thus led to a congestion of flights when people returning from their holidays.

The purpose of the AGM meeting was to discuss the general business of SIRUF and to elect a new executive for the federation.

The agenda includes the following; the President’s annual report, financial reports, the budget for 2014 and the highlighted issue will be the election for a new SIRUF president and executive.

Notices of motion, nominations and time will be waived during the meeting.

According to a statement by the SIRUF secretary general, Don Angikimua all delegates are required to be in town by this Saturday - February 1st.

Provincial delegates who are currently in town are asked to contact the SIRUF secretary for confirmation and for other program arrangement.

Those who are still in the provinces are asked to contact the Rugby Development Officer to make travelling arrangement; other issues will be made known to all later.
