In a statement yesterday SIFF said it is seeking well qualified and interest individuals to fill coaching positions that have become available as the national football body looks to move forward with its plans for 2014.
The coaching roles are available for both the beach and futsal.
SIFF said a new beach coach is important to fill the position of the Solomon Islands national beach soccer team (Bilikiki).
Star Sports understands the position became vacant following the resignation of former national coach Gideon Omokirio recently citing club and family commitment.
The statement said the new beach coach will be responsible for the formulation of training program for the team in the lead up to the qualifiers for the 2015 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup next year amongst other competitions.
The successful candidate will also be required to attend the FIFA and OFC courses that are available for 2014, it was highlighted.
Also up for grabs is a number of coaching roles for the Elite futsal program focussing on youth development.
The appointed candidates will manage sides from the ages 13-17 and be responsible for the training and development of the players.
“Qualification will be essential but experience will play a major role but applicants who have previously attended courses under the SIFF education structure.”
Interested individuals are asked to submit their coaching accreditation and resume` to the SIFF’s chief executive officer (CEO) by 21st February 2014.
Meanwhile SIFF also announced that coaching courses will become available this year. And there are 25 positions available for each course. Interest persons are required to contact the SIFF office for information on how to apply.
The courses includes; FIFA Youth course, FIFA senior coaching course, FIFA futsal course, OFC beach football course and women’s coaching course.
