THERE will be tight security in place when the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola arrives in Honiara on Thursday the 1st of February 2018, giving Solomon Islands fans the chance to experience football’s most coveted prize.

This was revealed by Coca-Cola officials who are in the country at the moment sorting out program for the historical visit.

The aircraft which will bring the Trophy also have professional security personals while the Royal Solomon Islands Police will also provide security during the three hours visit here in Honiara on Thursday.

Thus, those who are not part of the selected officials to take part in the historical visit are asked to respect the program.

According to the officials those who will have the chance to see the trophy are Governor General, Prime Minister, selected Solomon Islands National Football team, VIP guests and media.

However, only the Governor General will be able to touch the Trophy here in Solomon Islands.

“As one of most recognized sports symbols in the world and priceless icon, the FIFA World Cup Trophy can only be touched and held by a very select   group of people that includes former winners of the FIFA World Cup and Heads of State,’’ according to a statement reaching Star Sports.
