Young Clenty Lamupio joined four other Royal Football Academy players currently on their two weeks tour to United Kingdom to play alongside players from Australia, New Zealand and other countries around the globe for a chance to secure their spaces in Football Fussion Academy and other EPL academies.
Prior to their departure for England over the weekend, Lamupio told Star Sports he was so lucky to be given such prestigious opportunity to actually attend the most exciting event in his football career ever.
“Playing on an airfield back at home where my football career started has given me great motivation,” the young lad from Kekehe said.
“In fact I count this opportunity as a blessing and inspiration for my other brothers,” he said.
Lamupio insists he had a longtime dream to become one of the best players in the country.
“But this trip to England has given me more than what I am dreaming to become one of the country’s top players in the future.
“My focus for this trip now is to convince the selectors or academies who will be watching the games I will be playing,” he expressed.
He highlighted the opportunity given to him is a life time opportunity thus he will bestow everything he can do to please the scouts who will be there to scout for potential players to join their academies.
“I will exhaust all the knowledge and skills that I have to impress the selectors on what I have on offer.
“I know how tough this trip would be.
“But nothing is impossible,’’ he expressed.
Meanwhile, during the Solomon Cup U-16 championship held early this year, Lamupio helped Western Tomoko claim the title of the competition.
He also won the golden boot award of the competition.
