A Solomon Islands student studying at St. Patricks College in Penama Province, Vanuatu has scooped two awards at an annual weeklong Penama Inter Secondary Association (PISSA) games.

Jordana Rota Kolivangana, whose parents are teachers at the college on Friday walked away with a Silver medal she won on table tennis.

She also won a 10000 vatu (around 750SBD) on the Penama Governance Cup logo competition.

In an email, Kolivangana, a form two student at the college said the winning logo will be used in T-shirts, banners and other official uses at the Penama Cup next month, September and in years ahead.

The winning prize for the logo was presented to her by the Deputy Prime Minister of Vanuatu, Ham Lini during the closing of the games on Friday.

Kolivangana, a part Malaita and Guadalcanal high school student said she was happy with her double achievements, and commented that she was much more delighted and honored with winning the logo competition as her winning prize was presented to her by a leader from another country.

She added the logo competition was put out to students and teachers in all high schools in Penama province with around 10 entries from each school which she manage to have won.

Meanwhile, Kolivangana said earlier on this year her younger sister had also won a logo competition in Vanuatu and added that even though they traveled back home, they had memories in Vanuatu.

She dedicates her wins to her parents, and to her grandparents back in the Solomon Islands.
