Honiara Football Association (HFA) has kicked off its pre-season tournament over the weekend which featured matches.

The competition kicked off at King George Sixth School North Ground with four clubs who had paid in their registration fees before the due date last week.

The four clubs include Ghaobata Gwale FC from Guadalcanal province, San Jorge Thunders FC from Isabel Province, Rivantor Hunters FC of Tuvaruhu Communities and Henderson Eels which consist mainly of players from Areare of Malaita province.

The first match between Ghaobata Gwale FC and San Jorge ended in a nil all draw while the second match of the day was won by the Henderson Eels who finished off with a 3-1 win against Rivantor Hunters FC.

Round two of the tournament kicks off today and tomorrow featuring another two matches.

Today’s match will feature Ghaobata Gwale FC and Rivantor Hunters FC at 3:30pm and the Henderson Eels taking on San Jorge Thunders FC tomorrow also at 3:30pm at the King George Sixth School North Ground.

A brief look at the statistics showed the Henderson Eels leading the tally with three points, Ghaobata Gwale FC and San Jorge Thunders FC on second and third spot respectively while Rivantor Hunters FC settles on fourth.

Meanwhile the HFA Premier league matches scheduled for this weekend Saturday April 19 has been deferred to Saturday April 26 at Lawson Tama.

This is due to recent flooding and earthquakes.

Both Premier and Division 1 and Division 2 clubs are reminded that due date for registration is next week, Wednesday April 23 latest by 5.30pm.

Late registrations will not be accepted and clubs who fail to fulfil their registration obligations by the due date will not be allowed to participate in the HFA 2014 League season.

In the meantime, the four clubs namely, K1 FC, LS Kumar FC, Raindbow FC and Kakamora FC who are waiting for stage two of Pre-season competition are kindly reminded that your due date for registration is this Thursday April 17th latest by 5.30pm.

Clubs who fail to pay in their registration fees of $3,000 by this due date will be disqualified from participating in the Pre-season stage two competitions.
