PORT MORESBY, (POST COURIER) --- Papua New Guinea Commissioner of Police has thanked all the policewomen who participated in the recently completed security operations for the FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup tournament in Port Moresby with a success outcome.

Baki told the participants of the Commissioner of Police Conference in Kimbe that their policewomen had done an outstanding job to see the FIFA tournament through.

He said there were much concern when participating countries raised issues in reference to security but the policewomen had shown that they have done their best.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank and congratulate all our policewomen, especially those who were involved in the security operations at the recent FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup challenge in Port Moresby.

"It was indeed pleasing to see our smartly attired policewomen working as CPOs for VIPs and the athletes alike at the recently concluded FIFA women’s competition.

"I thank you all for being patriotic and for being professional in your duties and responsibilities as members of the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary," he said.

Baki made the remarks before his official speech at the Commissioner of Police Conference in Kimbe.

He said there were complete fear about security from those countries which were taking part in the competition but those were "water down the drain".

The policewomen had shown their best to provide one of the best securities – all by women alone, he added.

Policewomen were drawn from Port Moresby, Lae, Kimbe, Mount Hagen to provide security for the FIFA women games.
