Do something better this year!

New Years are often good times for making changes for a better individually, as a family, province and nation. Solomon Islanders need to take this seriously and start seeing New Year’s as a time to move even higher and excel.

For far too long, we remain where we are and underestimate our capabilities and do not even bother to try out new things. This is the kind of attitude that can take us nowhere. At this very early part of the New Year, I would like to share with us all some inspirational tips and ideas whereby we can assist ourselves prosper if we are serous.

It is all up to an individual but I think it is too shellfish not to share information that can help a fellow country man or woman make changes that can eventually see everybody enjoying life.

When everybody enjoys a happy and prosperous life, the nation will be happy, therefore, it is our responsibility to ensure our nation is happy.

The following were taken from some internet sites but I thought it is important that it comes out on print for everyone to share because most of us could not access internet.

It is therefore good to take home and take time to read as you look to launch into this New Year.

Here taken from a site (myGoals.com) is a workable step of realising your New Year’s plan.

There is a right way and a wrong way to make a New Year's plan. Here are a few expert tips to see that your resolution actually makes a difference:

1. Create a Plan

Setting a goal without formulating a plan is merely wishful thinking. In order for your resolution to have resolve, (as the word "resolution" implies), it must translate into clear steps that can be put into action. A good plan will tell you A) What to do next and B) What are all of the steps required to complete the goal.

2. Create Your Plan IMMEDIATELY

If you're like most people, then you'll have a limited window of opportunity during the first few days of January to harness your motivation. After that, most people forget their resolutions completely.

It is imperative that you begin creating your plan immediately.

3. Write Down Your Resolution and Plan

Write down yoru plan somewhere you can always see. You can always write it down in a note book or in a journal.

4. Think "Year Round," Not Just New Year's

Nothing big gets accomplished in one day. Resolutions are set in one day, but accomplished with a hundred tiny steps that happen throughout the year. New Year's resolutions should be nothing more than a starting point. You must develop a ritual or habit for revisiting your plan.

5. Remain Flexible

Expect that your plan can and will change. Life has a funny way of throwing unexpected things at us, and flexibility is required to complete anything but the simplest goal. Sometimes the goal itself will even change. Most of all, recognize partial successes at every step along the way. Just as a resolution isn't accomplished the day it's stated, neither is it accomplished the day you reach your goal. Rather, it's accomplished in many small increments along the way. Acknowledge these incremental successes as they come.

The above should give us what we should do when we want to do something even better this year 2016.

Let us move into this New Year as new beings, who are determined to achieve better things.
