Minister supports inter-ministry challenge

After successfully sponsoring the inter-company weekly challenge at the Club HP on Monday night Hon Elijah Doro Muala wasted no time in announcing that he is extending his sponsorship to the inter ministry weekly challenge to commence today at the same venue.

Last Monday saw Blue Ocean Shipping edging out the much loved Dreamline Car Rentals on the final shot.

Both teams had to work hard in their semi-finals though as their opponents were equally talented and were also gearing to take the number one spot.

However it was the shipping guys who walked away with the first prize and eventually got crowned as the champions for the week.

They dethroned Solomon Airlines who could only manage a 4th placing.

Ministry of Commerce, Labour, and Immigration are well prepared and are definite to take out the number spot.

“This is our game, it’s been sponsored by our good minister and there is no way we are going to let him down” commented one of the ministry’s employees.

Ministry of finance are believed to have been coached by an Australian and are very anxious to see the ball rolling.

“We just can’t wait for tomorrow (today). We are the money guys and we know the formula to win. We will definitely win,” mentioned one of their cashiers.

The ministry of home affairs are just as prepared and they too are aiming for the top spot. Talking to one of their players he commented: “Sports is one of our divisions. Our minister is a great supporter of sports and in fact an existing sportsman himself. Looking at our line up I don’t think any ministry has any chance of beating us. This is not about money, this is about sports, our bread and butter and we are more than ready to win”.

Tonight’s event starts at the usual time of 7pm and will see 12 teams made up of players from Government ministries vying to be crowned the inter-ministry pool champion for the week.

Each team is sponsored by their Cabinet Minister who will also be providing some light refreshments.

Registration is open until 6:45pm and those interested can call 7772177 to register.
