China United is optimistic it will continue with the construction of the Town Ground project as of next month.

This was revealed to the Solomon Star by China United’s board secretary Chris Guo.

Mr Guo said China United is in the process of kick starting work on the project beginning next month as preparation for materials and other equipments for completion of the project is underway.

The multi-million dollar project at Town Ground came to a halt after disputes over claims of illegal transfers of shares between the two investors.

Mr Guo said the plan now is to quickly get administrative work done, get the contractor in and get on with the job.

He revealed China United have paid SIRUF an outstanding fee of $90,000 dollars for breach of Deed Lease Agreement for the last three months and they do not want to continue pay this.

He said they have sorted all their issues with SIRUF and what is left yet for them is to sit with SIRUF to discuss how to go about finishing the job.

Mr Guo said what China United shareholders and directors wanted to get the job done as soon as possible.

He mentioned that funds are already in place for the next phase of the project which is the second wing and the stadium.

Meanwhile SIRUF has given China United before April of next year to complete the stadium.

This has put pressure on China United to finish the stadium and offices or face severe penalties.

China United is looking at engaging a local contractor to complete the unfinished job.

Mr Guo mentioned that in order to complete the building. China United is expected to invest another estimated $20 million dollars.
