AIR Pacific over
the weekend compensate for its lost schedule flight on Tuesday with a special flight
into Honiara on Saturday.
The flight from Nadi arrived at the Honiara international terminal at around lunch hour with a good number of passengers.
It later returned with more passengers bound for Port Vila and Nadi.
Most of the passengers are believed to be students returning for their studies.
The weather on Saturday was still not favourable but was much better than last Tuesday.
On Tuesday the flight was forced to turn back from Port Vila after a tropical depression was detected.
A good number of Honiara bound passengers were left stranded as a result while passengers bound for Port Vila and Nadi were also affected.
The Solomon Airlines Office said that the Honiara-Port Vila-Nadi flights were the only one cancelled due to bad weather last week.
Flights in and out from Brisbane to Honiara and Port Moresby remain uninterrupted despite of the bad weather.
With the weather improving this week more services are expected to be in full operational without much disruption.
