THERE is still a shortage of flour in Honiara and other parts of the country, the Solomon Star learned yesterday.
This is affecting individual bakers supplying daily fresh cakes and scones to the Honiara population.
This shortage, which started early this month, has now reached its third week.
A local agent, Bulk Shop, yesterday said they are yet to receive their new stock.
A notice was also put up inside the shop notifying customers about the shortage.
Another business, which operates a pizza service in Honiara, said the shortage of flour is affecting their business and won't be supplying pizza until stocks arrive.
Mothers who are selling fish and chips, bun, ring cakes and scones to students and at the market are also experiencing the same problem.
Only big bakery shops still have stocks of flour.
However, they are rationing it to produce daily bread supplies to Honiara residents.
The Solomon Star understands that the next shipment of flour supply is expected to arrive in the country towards the end of this month.
