MV Isabella, operated by the Isabel Development Company (IDC), resumed its weekly run to the Western province starting yesterday.

The ship leaves Honiara through the Marovo ports as far as Gizo and return the same route.

The service is opened for cargo and passengers.

The inclusion of the boat into the Western route has now ease the demand for shipping there.

Currently MV Bikoi I, operated by Shortland Shipping Limited and MV Estrella, are servicing the route.

Fast craft Express Pelican owned by Elite Shipping has suspended all its services due to maintenance work.

It is expected to resume normal services sometimes this month.

MV Tomoko, operated by the Trans West Shipping, is still out of service since last year due to mechanical problems.
