He revealed this in his inaugural speech outside the parliament house after being declared the country’s prime minister in the 9th parliament yesterday.
He polled 26 votes against his only rival Steve Abana with 23 votes. There was one spoilt vote.
Mr Philip said one of the areas his new government will strive to achieve is to increase investment in the country.
“My government will look at boosting tourism arrival and provide more investment opportunities,” the member of parliament for South Roviana, Rendova/Tetepare said.
He said with the logging sector soon to run out, his government will look to broaden the economic base of the country and develop other sectors.
This will include agriculture, mining, fisheries and tourism.
Mr Philip, who dedicated his win to his bed-ridden mother who is still alive but suffered from polio at Lokuru village on Rendova Island, said in the coming days he will work with his group to combine all the parties’ policies to drive the country forward.
