Director Technical Harry Zoleveke said this during a visit by members of the media to bemobile’s main base at Tasahe, Monday.
The base houses the heart of bemobile’s 3G network system which was set up by Huawei, a Chinese company based in Australia.
Mr Zoleveke said the network house itself can withstand earthquake and bad weather conditions.
“Whatever conditions which may arise in the country, this house will withstand to allow communications in times of disaster,” he said.
In terms of towers, they can are built at 40- 60 metres high.
But can still withstand earthquake as well as winds blowing at 300 kilometres per hour and category five cyclone or hurricane, he told the media.
“The towers are design in a way that they cannot fall in times of disasters”.
Since the construction of the towers there have been concerns raised about their structures with those living nearby expressing fears of the danger the towers pose to them.
Honiara City Major Andrew Mua was one of those who had concerns about the strengthe of the towers to withstand strong winds.
Nine towers were built in Honiara and on Guadalcanal so far.
Chief Executive Officer for bemobile Solomon Islands Michael Ah-Koy assured the public that these towers are built to withstand any weather conditions.
