That effectively means the controversial no confidence motion will not be on the agenda.
PM Philip informed the
House when it convened that he will tender his resignation to the Governor
General, Sir Frank Kabui before coming back to Parliament to formally announce
adjourned for an hour to allow Philip to meet with the Governor General.
The Speaker, Sir Allan
Kemakeza requested PM Philip to adhere to the Constitution and the wishes of the
people of Solomon Islands. Sir Allan gave the Prime Minister an hour to tender

Philip government was imminent after five cabinet ministers deserted the NCRA
government. Two were sacked and three resigned from cabinet while seven other
members disassociated themselves from the government.
Last week, Philip
claimed that he had the support of 29 of the 49 Members of
Opposition leader, Dr
Derek Sikua filed the motion amidst allegations of corruption relating to a $10m
discretionary ROC fund.
The PM allegedly abuse his power by giving about $7m to his relatives and cronies.
