Central Is youth council gets support

The office of the Central Islands Provincial Youth Council (CIPYC) is now equipped with a set of desktop computer donated by the Youth Development Division of the Ministry of Women, Youth, Children & family Affairs.

 In a brief handover ceremony at Tulagi Provincial Headquarters, the Youth Development Officer responsible for Central Islands Province, Mr Denton Enriko re-iterated the fact that the Provincial Youth office, and the office of the Provincial Youth Council (PYC) are the focal points through which youth services, programs and activities will reach the entire rural youth populace of Central Islands Province.

The Ministry Of Women, Youth, Children & Family Affairs in its endeavour to train and build the capacity of the Provincial Youth Council to be effective and efficient in youth work, also recognizes the need to strengthen its office in terms of facilities and equipment’s that will enhance administrative capacity in order to drive youth services forward.

Upon receiving the set of computer on behalf of the Provincial Youth Council (PYC), the Honourable premier of Central Islands Province, Honourable Patterson Mae highlighted the fact that the Central Islands Province Youth Division is gaining momentum as a result of training & capacity building workshops provided by the Ministry of Women, Youth Children & Family Affairs. Honourable Mae thanked the Ministry for its ongoing support and assistance that further strengthen the partnership that has been established between the Ministry and the provincial government.

Honourable Mae also urged the office of the Provincial Youth Council to utilize the equipment for its purpose ensuring effectiveness and efficiency in terms of youth programs and activities within Central Islands Province.
