The decision to name the new office complex built for MPs in honour of former speaker Paul Tovua was made by the Parliamentary House Committee.

The multi-million dollar Paul Tovua complex, funded by Taiwan, was opened last Friday.

Speaker Sir Allan Kemakeza said the name was agreed on as a tribute to Mr Tovua, who had held the post for two terms.

Mr Tovua, from Guadalcanal, was a one of the founding fathers of the nation, former public servant and had served in various government roles.

He currently chairs the Taskforce on the Political Integrity and Stability.

“We agree that Paul Tovua deserves recognition for his contribution to our nation,” Sir Allan announced on Friday.
