Acting city clerk Charles Kelly has warned
the management of Honiara city council to perform or shown the door.
In a move to strengthen the council’s internal management, Mr Kelly has called for more proactive performance from all management levels within each department.
“The Council has struggled to bring back the city to its feet in terms of service deliveries and want to move a step higher.
“But that goal would not be achieved if the Council’s internal management cannot cooperate to perform its mandated duties to ensure decision made at the management level of the council is in the best interest and to expectation of the Honiara public,” he said.
He said it is time the Council management pull up its socks and perform.
“Otherwise it is simply better to replace the unproductive with the productive and proactive managers.
“It’s simple, either you perform or get fired.”
He said it has been a practise in the past that the management failed to execute their mandated duties.
