The event, held last Friday, ran into its second year this year and organisers now say it will become an annual event.
General manager of visitors bureau Michael Tokuru said the success seen from this year’s event was appreciated and they will definitely looking at supporting it in years to come.
“SIVB is keen to see this event becoming an annual one, thus it will continue to put its support behind any plans for that to happen,” Tokuru said.
He also thanked organisers for yet another successful half marathon race and the provincial government for recognising the benefits this has for the province.
“The partnership and significant contribution of the sponsors is also appreciated especially to make this event eventually happen, though challenges are being faced.
“We must not also forget the athletes who have participated in this year’s event for without their participation this would have not been a success.”
