Veke said the Guadalcanal provincial opposition group is barking on the same allegations which he has clarified at a motion of no confidence against him in 2011.
Speaking to the Solomon Star in an exclusive interview yesterday, he said it’s not a new allegations they made against me.
“Such attack on me of misappropriate of funds is a political interest and hunger for power because we almost to have our budget meeting so they want to take on the new leadership”
Asked to explain how he had used the sum of $50,000.00 he said, the money was used for the trip to Korea.
“I assure to my good people on Guadalcanal that the trip was an official trip to Korea to meet the fishing company which interested in establish a fishing company at Doma.
“I never use the sum of money for personal interests,” premier Veke said.
The premier calls on the opposition group it’s time to refrain from false political point scoring and as leaders working together is important to ensure Guadalcanal province fulfils its development aspirations.
In fact how the money was spend revealed on Guadalcanal financial report and nothing to hide to the government and to my people.
Mr Veke said: “my government is intact and will continue to deliver goods and services to the people of Guadalcanal and such allegations is unsubstantiated and will never topple my government.”
This paper yesterday reported, that report calls for prosecution of premier over him allegedly misuse $50,000.00 from provincial funds.
The report stated Veke allegedly by passed procedures, collected and misappropriated revenue he collected from Korean Enterprise Limited.
