PM leaves for Dili summit today

PRIME Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo leaves for Dili, Timor Leste, today to attend the G7+ International Conference on the Post 2015 Development Agenda ‘Development for all: Stop Conflict, build states and eradicate poverty’.

The conference, which runs from February 25-28, will also attract leaders from South Sudan, Republic of Liberia, Republic of Congo, Afghanistan, Kiribati, Fiji and Somalia.

A statement from the Prime Minister’s office said Mr Lilo will be one of the key panelists of the high level heads of states/governments and ministers on a possible future of post-2015 development.

He will be also be given the opportunity to announce the Dili Consensus at the closing ceremony.

The g7+ group is the country-owned and country-led global mechanism to monitor, report and draw attention to the unique challenges faced by fragile states.

Prime Minister Lilo is expected back in the country on 3rd March.
