THE Solomon Islands Girl Guides association last Saturday held a formal ceremony to welcome the Girl Guide’s Patron Lady Grace Kabui.
Chief Commissioner for Girl Guides Gladys Siale said Lady Grace is now part of the order of Nation building because she is now the patron of the Girl Guides.
Lady Grace said she is honored to be associated with the Girl Guides, an organization that fights for girls to be good role models.
She said many women joining the Girls Guides association in the past are now holding high positions in the Government and Non Government Organization.
She also urged the Girl Guides leaders to work together with her for the betterment of the girls who joined the association.
“Let us continue to give guide, promise and keep the Girl Guides motto and always keep the law for the betterment of the future of the girls joining this association,” she said.
President of the Girl Guides Association Jean Tafoa at the welcome ceremony said the vision of the Girl Guide association is to pass good values to young women and be good citizens of this country.
She said the Girl Guides Association is still interested to enroll many girls as possible because through the association, girls will be able to be good nation builders.
The g ceremony of Lady Kabui ended with the Girl Guide leaders and the new patron re- affirming the Girl Guides Promise.
Scout leaders and Girl Guide stakeholders attended the ceremony.
