CHOISEUL premier Jackson Kiloe says his province’s second appointed day celebration will be marked in all 14 wards.

The day falls on February 25.

Mr Kiloe said this is the second year in a row that this celebration is being staged at the ward level.

“This is to encourage all our people participate in the celebrations, as this day truly belongs to them,” Mr Kiloe said.

“They must be encouraged to have pride in their province and take ownership and responsibility over it,” he added.

The premier said over the past years this celebration has been staged in Taro, the provincial centre, limiting the participation, to only the surrounding communities and invited guests.

“The vast majority of our people have been spectators all along.

“Funds have been allocated to all the 14 wards to assist them plan their celebrations.

“This is an opportune time for all elected provincial members to spend time with their people and carry out awareness on important government issues.

“The main activities for each ward would be decided on by their respective committees,” he said.

Mr Kiloe said a very low key program is being organised for our provincial staff, families and business houses in Taro.

He had informed the Ministry of Provincial Government on the planned celebrations.
