Inquiry into Lungga killing

E-mail Print

A MURDER inquiry will be held into the death of a young woman at Lungga, East Honiara, last year.

Two men accused of the killing will face the inquiry in the Magistrate’s Court on March 11.

Philip Suiga Kwaimani and Moses Roland Ramo were each charged with the murder of Betty Gwalomae.

Gwalomae’s body was found near the Lungga river mouth after her disappearance.

Both accused appeared in court yesterday and Magaistrate Steve Wilson adjourned the case to March 11 when the inquiry will start.

If the inquiry finds sufficient evidence against the two accused, it will commit them to stand trial in the High Court.

Lack of evidence means the two will be discharged.

Lawyers from the Public Solicitor’s Office are representing Kwaimani and Ramo.
