COMMUTERS can now wait and dropped off at the proper bus stop opposite the Westpac Bank at Point Cruz.

The area has to be fenced off to avoid people waiting at the wrong spot.

Many attempts by police to ensure people wait at the right spot at the bus stop have repeatedly been neglected.

Public buses normally lined up the area before the bus stop, leaving the proper bus stop space for nothing.

This has caused traffic congestion at the narrow spot where another road conjunction to the ports joins.

Police in the past had to deploy police officers to man the area to ensure people wait at the right spot.

However that did not work out because no officers should stand there the whole day just to move wayward people to the proper bus stop.

A clever move now saw people waiting at the proper bus stop and it is the erection of a steel rail to shut off people from accessing any parking buses at the area.

Solomon Star visited the area and found the move is working well as people are now waiting at the proper bus stop.
