This is due to financial reasons, according to organisers.
The only celebration marking this year’s event on July 7 (Wednesday next week) will be held at Lawson Tama.
It will feature police parade and speeches.
Previously, week-long Trade and Cultural shows were organised to coincide with the independence anniversary.
