Project coordinator Brian Larwood said the total amount include a $50,000 pledge from the national government, $20,000 pledge from Malaita Province and $7,400 collected from free will offerings.
Mr Larwood said the money will go towards a primary school project at Atoifi.
“Constructing of the primary school will start as soon as a budget breakdown is done,” he said.
Mr Larwood said the significance of last Sunday’s concert was it was broadcasted live through the internet.
“We want to thank to thank One Television for recording us live which enabled the concert to be viewed live on the internet,” he said.
“This is the first time for such concert to be held and first time for anything like this to be aired around the world,” he said.
Mr Larwood said the concert is planned to be held annually and they will look at helping other provinces with any projects in future.
He said the Atofi Project is just the beginning of what is to come.
Mr Larwood, from Australia, was the coordinator and his mother Joy Ayton was the assistant coordinator for the Atoifi Project .
